1Use the in-app control

When you can access the account, follow these steps:

1. Open Cain and sign in to the account you want to remove.
2. Open your profile, then open account or privacy settings.
3. Choose Delete Account, read the consequences, and confirm the request.
4. Complete the reasonable ownership check shown in the app.

If the control is unavailable or you cannot sign in, use the email route. You do not need to reinstall Cain to request deletion.

2Send an external request

Send the request from the email address associated with your Cain account when possible.

Include your Cain profile or account identifier, the sign-in email or phone number, and a clear statement that you want the account and associated data deleted. We may ask for proportionate account details to verify ownership and prevent an unauthorized deletion.

Do not send passwords, full payment-card numbers, identity documents, intimate content, or suspected child sexual abuse material.

3What the request covers

After ownership is reasonably verified and processing is complete, we delete or de-identify the account and profile record, login and recovery data, user-provided profile material, messages and selected media held for the account, support context, and linked device, advertising, activity, and communication metadata, subject to the exceptions below.

4Timing and lawful retention

We normally begin after verification and aim to complete deletion within a reasonable operational period. A request may take longer if we must investigate fraud, safety, a dispute, or a lawful request.

We may retain limited information when reasonably needed for safety, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, accounting, chargeback, tax, legal, or regulatory duties. Retained records are restricted and removed or de-identified when the relevant purpose or legal period ends. A safety report or lawful preservation duty may continue after the account is closed.

5Google Play billing

Deleting a Cain account does not automatically cancel a subscription or other billing managed by Google Play. Cancel through Google Play before deletion if you do not want future charges. Deletion may remove unused digital items and does not itself create a refund; Google Play billing and refund rules continue to apply.

6Safety requests

If a request concerns suspected minor access, child safety, abuse, fraud, or another serious safety issue, we may preserve limited evidence and restrict an account before deletion. This does not mean the account remains available for use. Read the Child Safety Policy and report a concern without attaching suspected CSAM.
